Rick is a social studies teacher at Jeffers High School in Painsdale, Michigan. He and his wife, Barbra '94 BS, recently moved back to the U.P. after living in Georgia. Rick has been involved in youth hockey and has been an ice hockey referee for 36 years and with USA Hockey National Federation and the NCAA Divisions 1,2, and 3.
"I have always been a part of the NMU alumni community and feel that NMU made me the person I am today, it groomed me to make a difference in the children I teach and the people I come in contact with each day. The support that the university has provided in the years after I graduated has allowed me to form strong ties to fellow alumni and with my students. In essence, I bleed Green and Gold!!! I enjoy the opportunity to further our commitment and outreach to our alumni and to create more opportunities for them to come together and connect as well as finding ways to find the next generation of Wildcats."
