‘COLLEGE GOAL SUNDAY’ AT NMU

Wednesday 28, 2009
Northern Michigan University will serve as a host site for “College Goal Sunday,” a free statewide event that helps high school seniors and their parents understand higher education costs and the financial aid options available. The local program will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, in the Ontario and Michigan rooms of the University Center.

NMU financial aid counselors and volunteers from the program will be available to help students fill out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in advance of the March 1 deadline.

Students and parents attending College Goal Sunday should bring their 2008 tax returns or estimating information such as 2007 tax returns, W-2 forms and other relevant tax documents.

Those who attend the event are also eligible for a statewide drawing for more than $5,000 in scholarships and prizes.

College Goal Sunday is being held at nearly 30 sites across Michigan. For more information, visit www.micollegegoal.org.
