MARQUETTE, Mich.−An “Introduction to Patent Law” workshop will be held at Northern Michigan University on Friday, March 13. The session is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon in room 165 of the Art and Design Building. Cost is $40 per person.

John Diebel, a consultant with the Michigan Small Business and Technology Development Center (MSBTDC), will serve as the presenter. Topics include the importance of intellectual property protection, types of intellectual property, patent infringement and an overview of what a patent is and how to obtain one.

The workshop is sponsored by Northern Michigan University, the Lake Superior Community Partnership, Michigan Works!, MSBTDC and Procurement Technical Assistance Centers of Michigan.
