NCLL SPONSORS WASTEWATER TREATMENT TOUR

Tom Asmus, plant superintendent of the Marquette Area Wastewater Treatment Plant, will lead a tour of the facility and give a presentation for an upcoming Northern Center for Lifelong Learning program. The event is scheduled on Thursday, June 25.
Asmus will discuss the history of wastewater treatment in Marquette, summarize the Clean Water Act and provide an overview of the latest technology being used to treat local wastewater. A walkthrough tour of the plant will follow.
Participants will meet either at 10 a.m. at the Berry Events Center east parking lot or at 10:15 a.m. at Jack’s Foods in Harvey, whichever is closest. The program will last about two hours.
