NCLL OFFERS CARP RIVER GARDENS TOUR

            The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will offer a tour of the Carp River Gardens—the largest perennial garden in the Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin—from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 11.

            Participants will meet at the Berry Events Center east parking lot and travel to the Carp River Gardens, which are a favorite locale for summer weddings. Owners Jim Somers and Mike Wirtanen, will lead a 90-minute tour and participants will end their visit by eating their own sack lunches at the gardens.

            The tour is free for NCLL members and $5 for nonmembers. Please register by Friday, Aug. 7, by calling Lorana Jinkerson at 226-6210. The rain date will be Thursday, Aug. 13.
