WINTER BOTANY PROGRAM OFFERED

MARQUETTE, Mich.—The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will offer a class called “The Botany of Wintertime” from 1-3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7.
NCLL member Kathy Peters will lead the presentation on her property, where the class will have an opportunity to identify trees and shrubs. Warm clothing and snowshoeing equipment are encouraged. Participants can meet either at 12:30 p.m. at the Berry Events Center to carpool or go directly to 600 Brickyard Road in Marquette Township. The cost is $4 for NCLL members and $7 for nonmembers. Please register by Thursday, Dec. 31, by calling Carol Margrif at 249-9975. If there is inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for Thursday, Jan. 21.
