NMU HOSTS TALK ON WOMEN AND OBESITY

MARQUETTE, Mich.-"Women, Obesity and the Therapeutic Effect of Diet" will be the next free presentation in the Your Health public lecture series at Northern Michigan University. It is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, in Reynolds Recital Hall in C.B. Hedgcock.
Weight issues affect women in many unique ways. This lecture will address the factors that play a role in obesity, the impact of a woman's weight on family matters such as fertility, pregnancy and disease and the top 25 all-star foods and best methods for achieving a healthy lifestyle. The featured presenter is Barbara Luke, a Michigan State University professor in the department of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive biology and department of epidemiology. She specializes in nutrition, pregnancy and multiple births.
