NMU HOSTS TALK ON WOMEN AND OBESITY

MARQUETTE, Mich.—“Women, Obesity and the Therapeutic Effect of Diet” will be the next free presentation in the Your Health public lecture series at Northern Michigan University. It is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, in Reynolds Recital Hall in C.B. Hedgcock.
Weight issues affect women in many unique ways. This lecture will address the factors that play a role in obesity, the impact of a woman’s weight on family matters such as fertility, pregnancy and disease and the top 25 all-star foods and best methods for achieving a healthy lifestyle. The featured presenter is Barbara Luke, a Michigan State University professor in the department of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive biology and department of epidemiology. She specializes in nutrition, pregnancy and multiple births.
