WINE-TASTING FUNDRAISER AT DEVOS MUSEUM

            MARQUETTE, Mich.—The DeVos Art Museum at Northern Michigan University will hold  a fundraiser titled “A Unique Evening of Wine, Food and Art” from 7-10 p.m. Friday, April 23.  All proceeds will support exhibitions and programs at the museum.

            Attendees can taste 13 hand-selected red, white and dessert wines, sample international cheeses, breads and desserts paired to complement the wines, listen to classical music by students in the Rococo Quartet and talk with graduating students about the senior art exhibition.

            Tickets are $50 and must be purchased in advance. RSVPs are requested by calling the NMU Foundation at 227-2627 by April 16.

            The winning ticket in a fundraising raffle for a trip to John Voelker’s Frenchman’s Pond with artist Paul Grant will be drawn at the end of the event. One winner and a guest will spend the afternoon of Saturday, May 15 (rain date May 22) at the pond. Lunch will be provided and fishing and hiking are optional. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the DeVos Art Museum or Marquette Arts and Culture Center. Co-sponsored by the Friends of the DeVos Art Museum and the Superior Watershed Partnership, the raffle proceeds will also support museum programs and exhibitions.
