NMU HOMECOMING PARADE RESCHEDULED
Thursday 23, 2010
MARQUETTE, Mich.—Because of heavy rain and strong winds predicted for Friday, Northern Michigan University’s Homecoming parade has been rescheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25. Members of the 1975 NCAA Division II champion football team will serve as grand marshals as part of their weekend reunion activities. NMU’s banking partner, Wells Fargo, will be among the 100 units in the parade with its familiar stage coach pulled by six draft horses.
NMU fans are invited to tailgate behind the Superior Dome after the parade and before the Homecoming football game, which kicks off at 4 p.m.
Saturday’s parade will follow the same route as previous years: from the Berry Events Center parking lot onto Fair Street, down Third to Hewitt and back on Front Street.
