MARQUETTE, Mich.—The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will tour the Republic Wetlands Preserve at 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8.

            The bus tour, presented by E.J. Kutchie, of Cliffs Natural Resources, will allow participants to view the reclaimed tailings basin from the Republic mine. There will be some hiking along the way.  

            The bus will pick up participants at either the Berry Events Center at 8 a.m. or the Ishpeming Cliffs Shaft Mine Museum at 8:25 a.m.    

            The total cost with bus fare is $4 for NCLL members and $7 for non-members. Register by Oct. 5 by contacting Al Reynolds at 360-4167 or 475-9836.
