'UP FOCUS' EXHIBIT OPENS AT DEVOS

            MARQUETTE, Mich.— Artists Ryan Brayak of Escanaba and Emily Lanctot of Marquette are featured in a new exhibit opening Friday, Feb. 25, at Northern Michigan University’s DeVos Art Museum. UP FOCUS is an annual show highlighting artists who live in or are heavily influenced by the Upper Peninsula.

An artists’ talk is scheduled at 5 p.m. Friday in room 165 of the Art and Design Building and an opening reception will follow at 6 p.m.  

            Brayak graduated from the University of Michigan Architecture School. He is founder of Rock Elements, where he has been designing and fabricating concrete projects for more than 10 years. Lanctot grew up in the Keweenaw Peninsula and recently received an MFA from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. She lives in Marquette and serves as an adjunct art professor at NMU.
