LAUTNER FILM SCREENING AT NMU

            MARQUETTE, Mich.—Award-winning filmmaker and editor Bette Cohen will participate in a screening and discussion of her film, The Spirit in Architecture: John Lautner, at Northern Michigan University. The event will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, in Art and Design room 165. It is free and open to the public.

            The film is being shown in conjunction with the simultaneous exhibitions titled A Life in Architecture: John Lautner at the NMU DeVos Art Museum and Marquette Regional History Center. Cohen produced and directed The Spirit in Architecture, which portraysthe life and work of Lautner, a Marquette native and NMU alumnus. She also serves as an advisory board member on the John Lautner Foundation.

Cohen has been awarded the Cine Golden Eagle and grants from the Graham Foundation Center for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts, the American Architectural Foundation and the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs program. Her work has screened worldwide
