MARQUETTE, Mich.—Northern Michigan University’s psychology department will present a lecture titled “The Literature of Prescription: The Stories Behind the Story” as part of its colloquium series. The event begins at 3:10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, in 167 Gries Hall.
Mollie Fischer, associate professor at NMU, will talk about Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s short story “The Yellow Wallpaper,” based on Gilman’s real-life experiences with post-partum depression and its treatment.
