"NRA PRESIDENT, CONSULTANT SPEAK AT 'POWER COUPLE' EVENTS"

            MARQUETTE, Mich.—David Keene, president of the National Rifle Association, and Donna Wiesner Keene, political marketing consultant, will speak at two “The Perfect (Conservative) Power Couple” events at Northern Michigan University. The series is co-sponsored by the NMU College Republicans and the NMU College Libertarians.

Keene will address the Second Amendment at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, in 102 Jamrich Hall. A lifelong hunter, he has served as president of the NRA since May. Keene is immediate past chair of the American Conservative Union and an associate at the Carmen Group, a lobbying firm in Washington, D.C. Admission to his talk is $5 for the general public and free for NMU students with ID.

Wiesner Keene is the CEO of BrainTrain, a business specializing in marketing and communicating political ideas and projects. She also is a senior fellow at the Independent Women’s Forum and the Washington, D.C., liaison for www.TheTeaParty.net. She will speak about women in politics and her own career path. Her talk begins at 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, in the Great Lakes Rooms of the University Center. Admission is free.
