NMU Orchestra Concert Nov. 30

            MARQUETTE, Mich.—The Northern Michigan University orchestra will present a “Pops” concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, in Reynolds Recital Hall. The public is invited and there is no admission charge.

            The orchestra, under the direction of Barbara Rhyneer, will play two arrangements of the holiday tunes “Hark the Herald Angels Sign” and “O Holy Night.” It will also perform the film score selections “Dark Knight” by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard and “Music from Gladiator” by Hans Zimmer. Other pieces include G. F. Handel’s "Song of Jupiter,” the popular "Ashokan Farewell" by Jay Ungar, "Australian Suite," which contains some traditional Australian tunes arranged by Elliot Del Borgo, and “Orange Jam,” written for  strings only by Jeffrey Bishop.
