NCLL Class Explores Ukraine and Russia

            MARQUETTE, Mich.—The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will present a class titled “Exploring the ‘New’ Ukraine and Russia” at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, in Northern Michigan University’s Superior Dome room 101-B.
            Jim and Norma Matteson will recount their trip to the Ukraine and Russia, accompanied with digital photos. Participants will see the domed churches, museums, parks and people. They will also hear stories about visiting the Chernobyl Museum, having tea in a woman’s home in a small rural village, the wooden churches of Karelia, the palaces of St. Petersburg and a lesson about drinking vodka Russian-style.
            This class is free for NCLL members and $5 for non-members. Register by Thursday, Feb. 2, by calling Mary Letts at 249-3426.
