Cuban Microbiologist Gives Talk at NMU

            MARQUETTE, Mich.—Mayra Hedrich, an environmental microbiology specialist at Cuba’s Havana University, will give a free public talk at Northern Michigan University as part of the International Visiting Scholars Series. She will present “Impact of Microbial and Chemical Pollution in Cuban Freshwater Ecosystems: Strategies for Environmental Recovery” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, in Mead Auditorium in the West Science Building.

            Hedrich is focused on developing research in the field of microbial pollution in freshwater aquatic ecosystems and the impact of pollution on public health and the environment.
