NCLL Offers Talk on Nuclear Reactors

            MARQUETTE, Mich.—The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will present “The Japanese Earthquake’s Impact on Nuclear Reactors” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, at Peter White Public Library.
            Nuclear chemist/engineer Martin Steindler will speak on the impact on the nuclear power plants hit by the Fukushima earthquake and tsunami. His presentation will focus on the initial reactor situations, measures taken by Tokyo Electric and the government and estimates on prospects for the short- and long-term future. There will be digital photos showing the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in Japan and a question-and-answer session.
