NCLL Offers Paddle Down Indian River

            MARQUETTE, Mich.—The Northern Center for Lifelong Learning will offer “A Summer Paddle Down the Indian River” at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, in the Hiawatha National Forest.  
             The Indian River is a mild, scenic body of water that twists and curves for 36 miles in the Hiawatha National Forest. This three- to four-hour trek is appropriate even for those with little canoeing or kayaking experience. Participants will meet at Jack’s Superserv in Harvey and proceed to Alger County. Canoes and kayaks can be rented by Uncle Ducky Outfitters in Marquette.
            This class is free, but pre-registration is requested by Thursday, Aug. 2. Call the NCLL office at 227-2979.
