Invisible Children Program at NMU

Wednesday 5, 2012

MARQUETTE, Mich.—Representatives from Invisible Children, a non-profit group working to end the rebel military enslavement of Ugandan youth and bring peace to the central African region, will lead a program at Northern Michigan University. The event will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, in 102 Jamrich Hall. It is free for NMU students and $2 for the general public.

The program will begin with a brief informational documentary titled “The Rescue.” There will be a question-and-answer session afterward and an opportunity to purchase fundraising items. Invisible Children was founded in 2005. It has since created multiple programs to aid in the area's recovery, including building and funding schools, facilitating peace talks and promoting economic development.

This event is sponsored by Platform Personalities at NMU.
