Vocal Ensembles Perform at NMU
Tuesday 9, 2012
MARQUETTE, Mich.— Northern Michigan University’s music department is bringing together its three choral ensembles for a concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, in Reynolds Recital Hall in the C.B. Hedgcock Building. The public is invited at no charge.
The University Choir, under the direction of Floyd Slotterback, will feature Norma Della Joio’s A Jubilant Song as part of its traditional vocal repertoire. The Madrigal Singers, who specialize in a capella music, will present works including Samuel Barber’s Reincarnation. The Lake Effect Show Choir, directed by Sharon Green, will offer some contrast with its program of choreographed, contemporary music.
