Teaching Students with Autism Addressed at NMU

Friday 16, 2012

MARQUETTE, Mich. —A Northern Michigan University colloquium will explore teaching children, adolescents and young adults with autism and related developmental disorders from 5-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, in 105 Jamrich Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

A recruiter from the New England Center for Children will discuss the benefits and challenges of such a career, and what job opportunities are available at the NECC and nationwide.  A teaching certification is not a requirement for employment at the NECC and on-site graduate programs are available.

The center is a school for autism located just outside Boston with a focus on education, research and technology.

This presentation is sponsored by the NMU Psychology Department.
