Science Olympiad Results Announced

            MARQUETTE, Mich.— The Annual Science Olympiad Tournament was held Saturday, Feb. 9, on the campus of Northern Michigan University. Contestants included 10 high school teams and 14 middle school teams from the Upper Peninsula. About 125 volunteers from the campus community and some retired teachers ran 46 STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) events, with 23 events in each division.

            Results in Division B were as follows: Washington Middle School (Calumet), first place; Superior Central Middle School (Eben Junction), second; and A.D. Johnston Middle School (Bessemer), third place. All three teams have received and accepted invitations to the Michigan Science Olympiad Tournament.

            In Division C, Superior Central High School (Eben Junction) earned first place, A.D. Johnston High School (Bessemer) earned second place, and Calumet High School earned third place. The two teams have received and accepted invitations to the Michigan Science Olympiad Tournament.

            The Michigan Science Olympiad Tournament will be held Saturday, April 27, at Michigan State University in Lansing.
