NMU Theater Presents 'Legally Blonde'

Wednesday 10, 2013

MARQUETTE, Mich .—  Northern Michigan University will present the musical “Legally Blonde” Wednesday-Saturday, April 17-20. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. in Forest Roberts Theatre, with an additional 1 p.m. matinee on Saturday. Tickets are $5 for NMU students, $10 for other students and $15 for general public. They are available at all NMU EZ Ticket outlets.

“Legally Blonde” is based on the Amanda Brown novel and the 2001 film of the same name. It is about a college sorority girl, Elle Woods, who is dumped by her boyfriend. She enrolls at Harvard Law School in order to win him back and, in the process, helps to successfully defend exercise queen Brooke Wyndham in a murder trial. She ultimately proves that being yourself and going after what you want never goes out of style. The play is directed by Shelley Russell, with choreography by Jill Grundstrom. Post-baccalaureate student Susan Boyle of Marquette will play the lead role of Elle Woods.
