NMU Student Video Contest Winners Announced
MARQUETTE, Mich .— The $1,000 grand prize winner in the 2012-13 Northern Michigan University video contest is Ryan Stephens, an environmental studies and sustainability major from Oconomowoc, Wis. His video, “MyNMU: Northern. Naturally. 2013” won by only four student votes. Second place went to senior art and design major Mike Kvackay of Zurich, Ill. His video is titled “NMU Tube Contest Northern Naturally Timelapse.”
The third- and fourth-place winners are “My NMU Dance Video 2013: Best Part About NMU” by Kelly McCommons, sophomore art and design and media production major from Marquette, and “My NMU Adventure: Ski Team” by Erik Soderman, junior industrial technologies major from Njurunda, Sweden.
The NMU Tube Video Contest encourages students to create YouTube videos that complement NMU’s current “My Adventure. My NMU” television advertising campaign. In addition to the $1,000 grand prize, which is selected in a campus-wide vote of the top category winners, there are cash prizes for each category. First-place winners receive $500, second-place winners receive $250 and third place winners receive $100.
