Wednesday 19, 2013

MARQUETTE, Mich. – Travis Williams of Watersmeet received the Krummrei-King Scholarship for his upcoming studies at Northern Michigan University. He plans to pursue a degree in industrial maintenance.

This scholarship was created by Reuben and Donna Krummrei and Joseph King to provide financial support for high school graduates who enroll in a baccalaureate degree program at NMU. The scholarship provides the student with a full ride to include tuition, fees, room, board and books, which is renewable for a maximum of four years.

“I believe that furthering my education is a necessity in today’s world in order to get a good job and excel in a fulfilling life,” Williams said. “I have visited the industrial arts programs and I feel very strongly that I can receive a quality education there.”

First preference is given to students from Watersmeet, Mich., followed by students from Merrill, Wis., and other Gogebic County high schools.
