NMU Marks Indigenous People's Resistance Day

            MARQUETTE, Mich.— A musical performance and motivational presentation will be held at Northern Michigan University in celebration of Indigenous People’s Resistance Day on Monday, Oct. 14. Brian Frejo, whose heritage is Seminole and Pawnee, will lead the presentation at 7 p.m. in 102 Jamrich Hall. The public is invited free of charge.

            Frejo is an actor, leadership and teamwork trainer, cultural and language activist and a drug/alcohol free Native.

            Indigenous People’s Resistance Day celebrates Native American culture and commemorates the history of Native American peoples. It is typically observed the second Monday in October.
