MARQUETTE— The St. Louis Brass Quintet will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, in Kaufman Auditorium as part of the Northern Nights series at Northern Michigan University. Advance tickets are available at all NMU EZ Ticket outlets for $18 for the general public, $13 for NMU faculty/staff and senior citizens and $5 for students under 18 or with an NMU ID.             The St. Louis Brass Quintet was founded in 1964, and is one of America’s longest-standing brass groups. It has performed in Japan, Mexico, Germany, Sweden, India and Norway. The group has been funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Missouri Arts Council and the Mid-America Arts Alliance. It has performed more than 2,500 times and only one original group member remains.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has described the quintet as “[…] a wonderful ensemble, both in the technical sense and as an atmosphere that emanates from the stage.”
