The Northern Michigan University Regional Police Academy will host an informational meeting at 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at the Finnish American Heritage Center in Hancock. This meeting is for those interested in attending NMU’s Regional Police Academy.  The next academy runs May 4-Aug. 19.  Topic areas will include Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) requirements to enter the academy, NMU requirements, an overview of the academy and a question-and-answer session.
