Intel-NMU App Awards Ceremony Tuesday (Nov. 5)

Monday 4, 2013

An awards ceremony for the third Intel-sponsored app programming competition at Northern Michigan University will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5. It runs from noon-1 p.m. in Mead Auditorium in the West Science Building. Media are welcome to cover the event. The three top teams of NMU students who competed last semester will split $6,000 in prize money. They submitted apps using Intel's CCF software to run on multiple mobile platforms--from smartphones to tablets and laptops and including Android, Apple iOS and Windows systems.

Representatives of the NMU math and computer science department will present each team and its respective app, award the prizes and review plans for mobile device programming (inlcuding app development) at NMU and Intel. They will also discuss future Intel-sponsored app competitions and internships.

Professor Jeff Horn is the NMU contact. He will be at the event and can be reached at 227-1607.
