NMU Economics Student's Work Published
MARQUETTE—A Northern Michigan University economics major recently published an article. Senior Laura Leppanen’s lesson plan, “The Crow and the Pitcher,” was published on the website EconEdLink, a database of resources for economics educators. The lesson plan, based on a fable, is designed to teach elementary school children the concepts of scarcity and trade in an economic setting.
Leppanen also is a student assistant to Sam M. Cohodas Professor Tawni Ferrarini, who described the publication process for EconEdLink as “competitive.” The website’s review process involves blind and peer-review procedures.
