Thursday 19, 2013
MARQUETTE-A Northern Michigan University economics major recently published an article. Senior Laura Leppanen's lesson plan, "The Crow and the Pitcher," was published on the website EconEdLink, a database of resources for economics educators. The lesson plan, based on a fable, is designed to teach elementary school children the concepts of scarcity and trade in an economic setting.
Leppanen also is a student assistant to Sam M. Cohodas Professor Tawni Ferrarini, who described the publication process for EconEdLink as "competitive." The website's review process involves blind and peer-review procedures. To see her article, visit http://www.econedlink.org/lessons/index.php?lid=1139&type=educator
