Wednesday 2, 2014

NOTE:  Time has been changed from the originally scheduled 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. to better accomodate the presidential candidate forum being held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, April 8.

MARQUETTE, Mich.--The next Your Wealth lecture at Northern Michigan University will be titled "The Walking Debt: Don't Become a Financial Zombie." Rich Tegge, president and founder of Wealth Strategy Group, and Tawni Ferrarini, economist and Sam M. Cohodas Professor at NMU, will give the presentation at 6 p.m. [new time] Tuesday, April 8, in Mead Auditorium in the West Science Building. This event is free and open to the public.

NMU students who graduated in 2011, on average, had accumulated $29,000 in student loans, according to the Institute for College Access and Success. What is college debt? How does it differ from other types of debt? Is it strategic to take on debt while in college? These questions and others will be asked and answered in the context of how NMU students can build wealth and help others prosper.
