NMU Students Receive MAB Scholarships
MARQUETTE, Mich. – Two Northern Michigan University students received scholarships from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters (MAB) Foundation. Daniel Zini from Marquette received the MAB Foundation Scholarship and Patricia Larkin from Arab, Ala., won the Upper Peninsula Radio Broadcast Alliance Scholarship.
Zini is a junior enrolled in the media production and new technology program. Larkin works at student radio station WUPX-FM as the public affairs coordinator and is a senior enrolled in the public relations program.
The MAB awards scholarships to students at universities, colleges and trade schools in Michigan that have an approved broadcast related program. The Marks Foundation Scholarship (supported by WBKB-TV, WBKP-TV, WBUP-TV, WOLV-FM, WCCY-AM and WHKB-FM) is awarded to faculty-recommended students enrolled in a broadcasting-related program. The Upper Peninsula Radio Broadcast Alliance $1,000 scholarship is new this year and awarded through the MAB Foundation to U.P. students.
