Symphonic Band and Orchestra Perform
The Northern Michigan University Symphonic Band and NMU Orchestra will share the stage for a concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 13, in Reynolds Recital Hall. It is free and open to the public.
The NMU Symphonic Band will perform Arabesque by Hazo, Little English Girl by Cese, Gustav Holst's popular work, Second Suite in F for Military Band and The Music of Quirks by Brant Karrick. NMU music professor Stephen Grugin directs the band.
The NMU Orchestra, directed by Barbara Rhyneer, will perform Beethoven's Egmont Overture, a dramatic narrative based on the life and heroism of a 16th-century Dutch nobleman, the Count of Egmont.
