MARQUETTE, Mich. — Nicholas Hinsa of Munising is the recipient of the Signild Buck Endowed Scholarship at Northern Michigan University for the 2014-2015 school year.

To be eligible for the scholarship students must be majoring in elementary education or art and design with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Preference is given to applicants who are residents of the Upper Peninsula.

The Signild Buck Endowed Scholarship was established in 2000 by a gift from the will of Signild Buck, a NMU alum.
