Lalonde Receives NMU Scholarship
MARQUETTE, Mich.- Alyssa Lalonde of Rapid River is the recipient of the Timothy Herbert Scholarship Fund at Northern Michigan University for the 2014-2015 academic year.
To be eligible for the scholarship students must be a full-time junior or senior with a minimum GPA of 3.0
The Timothy Herbert Scholarship Fund was established in 2012 by Timothy Herbert to provide financial support to qualifying students enrolled in the College of Business. Intitating a scholarship has always been a project close to Tim’s heart. Due to his family’s financial struggles following his father’s layoff from his auto industry job, Tim began working a number of odd jobs to ensure he had the funds to receive a first-class college education. Through his perseverance and dedication, Tim was able to graduate magna cum laude from NMU and then went on to earn his Master’s Degree in Business. Tim understands the trials and tribulations students face when it comes time for college. The hope of this scholarship is to help students pursuing a business degree to complete their education at a Michigan University while simultaneously helping grow the local economy.
