Shared Governance Talk at NMU

MARQUETTE, Mich.Northern Michigan University archivist Marcus Robyns will present “Blood on the Table: The Battle for Shared Governance" from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, in room 126 of the Learning Resources Center.  His talk is free and open to the public.

            Robyns will address the sometimes-tumultuous relationship between former NMU president John X. Jamrich and the faculty at a time when some faculty members felt unfairly barricaded from academic governing. Topics include collective bargaining rights, contract negotiations and the role of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP). This presentation precedes the Thursday, Sept. 25 John X. Jamrich Hall dedication ceremony.
