Volunteers Helping Veteran's Family
Thursday 9, 2014
A home improvement project for a local veteran and his family is underway. With support from a Wells Fargo grant and the sweat equity of bank and NMU student/staff volunteers, the family's mobile home is getting new flooring, lower kitchen cabinets, fresh paint and a new roof on the shed. Media are welcome to cover the project. It continues from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 329 Brookwood Ln. (Beaver Grove). The work may finish early. The home belongs to Charles and Patricia Blake and their son, Charlie, who are staying in a hotel during the project. Charles was selected from area veterans applying for the second annual free home improvement project supported by Wells Fargo. The NMU volunteer center is coordinating and the NMU Constructors and other students are participating.
