Media are invited to cover the ribbon-cutting and open house for Invent@NMU at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16. Invent@NMU is an innovation and entrepreneurial program that gives NMU students real-world experience helping regional clients take physical products from concept to market. With support from professional mentors, students will develop skill sets related to design, manufacturing and marketing. Media can interview student employees about the career-building opportunities available to them through this program. NMU representatives will also be available to explain how Invent@NMU’s mission is different from other entities whose primary focus is on economic development. 

The Invent@NMU contract design and commercialization house is located in the former mBank building across from Cohodas Hall (1400 Presque Isle Ave.). 

Please do not publicize the open house in advance as a public event. Because of space limitations, invitations were distributed. Thank you.
