The Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center will offer two public presentations on living with brain tumors and the role of exercise training in cancer management and prevention. Both are free and will be held at Northern Michigan University.

Dr. Tobias Walbert of the Hermelin Brain Tumor Center at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit will address current treatments and new approaches related to brain tumors. He manages clinical trials and investigates outcomes for patients. His talk is scheduled at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, in West Science 2904. Refreshments and an open house of the Upper Michigan Brain Tumor Center laboratory at NMU will follow.

Scott Drum will discuss exercise training for cancer patients at noon Friday, Oct. 31, in Mead Auditorium in the West Science Building. He is a professor in the School of Health and Human Performance at NMU with a research interest in exercise and cancer rehabilitation. He also is passionate about altitude training and ultra-endurance racing.
