Silent Film with Live Piano Accompaniment Featured

Thursday 30, 2014

The French program at Northern Michigan University will present a classic silent film screening with live grand piano accompaniment by Robert Buchkoe. The 1928 film, The Passion of Joan of Arc, will be shown at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, in the University Center’s Charcoal Room. Admission is by $3 donation, with more appreciated, as all proceeds will support a Peace Corps project initiated by NMU alumna Monica Lambert in Andasibe, Madagascar.

Lambert plans to help the French-speaking community build brick ovens to bake French baguettes to sell to local retailers. She will also teach local students basic business and baking skills.
