The next Northern Michigan University psychology colloquium is titled "Choice Amount and Choice-Making in Children: A Comparison of Children With and Without Symptoms of ADHD." Faculty candidate Liesa Klein will give the presentation at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, in 167 Gries Hall. It is free and open to the public.

The use of choice and choice interventions are used in educational settings, but the negative impact--the choice overload hypothesis--has yet to be examined in children. It could have further implications for children with ADHD who exhibit deficits in executive functioning. Klein will present findings from her research on the occurrence of choice overload within children and differential choice behavior of children with and without symptoms of ADHD.
