Northern Michigan University will present the musical Chicago Wednesday, Nov. 19, through Saturday, Nov. 22, at Forest Roberts Theatre. Show times are 7:30 p.m., with an additional 1 p.m. matinee on Saturday. Tickets are still available at all NMU EZ Ticket outlets or online at www.nmu.edu/tickets. Prices are $5 for NMU students with ID, $10 for other students and $15 for the general public.

After shooting her lover because he couldn’t make her a star, Roxie Hart must prove her innocence in Chicago, where the biggest celebrities are those with the heftiest crime careers. With the help—and lack thereof—of sexy murderesses, a big-shot lawyer and nearly invisible husband, Roxie discovers what it means to kill for fame.

Ansley Valentine directs the production, with assistance from Marty Martello and choreography by Jill Grundstrom. The cast includes Marquette community members Liza Hunter as Velma Kelly, the seductive club singer and murderess, and Christopher Leith as Hart’s husband, Amos. NMU students in featured roles are Erin Resteiner of West Branch as Roxie Hart, Anthony Pruett of Marquette as lawyer Billy Flynn and Alexandra Marks of Beloit, Wis., as Matron “Mama” Morton.
