Editors: Please note the Friday, April 3 registration deadline.

The Northern Michigan University hospitality management program will host a five-course gala dinner with select wine pairings inspired by the city of Detroit and titled “Motown.” The event will be held on Friday, April 10, in the NMU Jacobetti Complex. The cost is $75 per person, with proceeds benefiting the various NMU hospitality management scholarships. Advance registration is required by Friday, April 3.

The event opens with an hors d’oeuvres reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. The menu is representative of the varied ethnicities in the Detroit area and will feature corn chowder with cherry-smoked pork, coney dogs, smoked salmon deviled eggs, Greek salad with feta mousse, aged cheddar grits, turnip greens and bacon-stuffed quail and ice-cream puffs. There will also be a silent auction, a photo booth, live music and a dance performance.
