Media Advisory: Upcoming NMU Events
Here are some upcoming events at NMU that media are welcome to cover:
-TONIGHT: Reminder that the Central Upper Peninsula & Northern Michigan University Archives will host an opening reception for the unveiling of a new online exhibition that documents the history of student protests at Northern Michigan University during the 1960s and early 1970s. It begins at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 2, in room 126 of the Harden Learning Resources Center (Archives reading room). The reception is tonight, but the exhibition will be continue at http://www.nmu.edu/archives/node/232.
-The 20th Annual Celebration of Student Research, Creative Works and Academic Service Learning will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, April 9. It includes poster displays on the first floor of Jamrich Hall and oral presentations every 15 minutes in the Learning Resources Center room 109.
-The 2015 faculty/staff recognition luncheon honoring retirees and employees who’ve reached years-of-service milestones will be held at noon Tuesday, April 14, in the Great Lakes Rooms of the University Center.
-The 28th annual Student Leadership Recognition Banquet will begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 16, in the University Center Great Lakes Rooms.
-Graduating seniors in Electrical Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology will present their completed projects, which range from a timing system for the Lucy Hill Luge track to a track system for an off-road vehicle. It runs from 2-4 p.m. Friday, April 17, in the Jacobetti Complex.
