Guest Pianist Performs at NMU

Tuesday 21, 2015

MARQUETTE, Mich.— Montreal-based pianist Derek Yaple-Schobert will perform Monday, April 27, at Northern Michigan University. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in Reynolds Recital Hall. It is free and open to the public.

Yaple-Schobert’s programs feature a broad spectrum of romantic and classical favorites, as well as contemporary works by Canadian composers. He is considered a classical piano music ambassador as he guides newcomers and seasoned concertgoers through musical journeys. One of his lifelong goals is to get people “who think they don’t like classical music” as excited as he is about the genre.

Admission is free and open to the public. Younger listeners are encouraged to come under parental supervision.
