NMU Online Master's Program Among 50 Most Affordable

Saturday 26, 2015

Northern Michigan University offers one of the 50 most affordable online graduate degrees in curriculum and instruction in the nation, according to a ranking by topeducationdegrees.org. NMU was the only school in Michigan to make the list.

NMU’s School of Education, Leadership and Public Service offers a master of arts in education degree in instruction. The program is listed as 44th most affordable.

Along with the ranking, topeducationdegrees.org stated: “A degree in curriculum and instruction opens doors for teachers and educators who want to further their career goals. While most teachers are already committed to the classroom, earning a master’s degree with that emphasis provides opportunities for certifications, especially in specialized areas of education. Graduate students in education, mostly working teachers, find that online programs provide the flexible scheduling needed to work while attending school.”

According to www.topeducationdegrees.org, the ranking of the 50 most affordable online master’s curriculum and instruction degree programs was created based on information collected for the National Center for Education Statistics College Navigator. The majority of the schools on the list are designed for working teachers, or those with at least some level of classroom teaching experience. All schools on the list deliver online or distance learning programs in curriculum and instruction.
