NMU Shows 'Hunting Ground' Documentary

Saturday 26, 2015

The Hunting Ground, a documentary that explores sexual assault on college campuses, will be shown at Northern Michigan University. The screenings are scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30, and Thursday, Oct. 1, in Jamrich Hall 1100. Admission is free.

The Hunting Ground is from director Kirby Kick and producer Amy Ziering, the Academy Award-nominated filmmaking team behind The Invisible War, which addressed sexual assault in the military. It documents the toll of campus sexual assault on victims and their families, and investigates institutional cover-ups. To see the trailer or for more information on the film, visit http://www.thehuntinggroundfilm.com/.

After each showing, attendees can engage in conversation, ask questions or share concerns they may have about the reporting process, getting help or what they can do to be proactive by talking with the sponsors. This event is being sponsored by the Dean of Students office, Housing and Residence Life, the Gender Work Group, Panhellenic Council, NMU Public Safety, the Provost's Office, the Sexual Assault Task Force, the Health Promotions Office, NMU Counseling Center and the Center for Student Enrichment.
