United Way Workplace Campaign Winds Down

Thursday 18, 2016

The NMU workplace campaign to support the United Way of Marquette County will wrap up at the end of the month. As of Feb. 19, employees had contributed $26,406 toward the $35,000 goal. The money will be distributed among more than 30 non-profit member agencies that rely on financial support from the local United Way.

NMU employees can opt for payroll deduction to spread out their contributions over a period of time. Individuals can also choose how to invest their dollars in Marquette County. Selecting "Community Impact" will target programs that address all five impact areas: basic needs, such as emergency food, clothing and shelter; youth programs; domestic violence and addiction services; health; and elderly citizens and adults with disabilities. Another option is to selectively invest in one or more of the impact areas.

To contribute to the NMU campaign before it closes, contact Kathy Maki in the College of Health Sciences and Professional Studies at kmaki@nmu.edu.
