Megan Pryor of Marquette, a student employee with Northern Michigan University Dining, placed second among nominees for the Midwest Student Employee of the Year Award presented by the National Association of College and University Food Services (NACUFS). She received $500 for the honor.

“I am so impressed with your many accomplishments and contributions to Northern Michigan University as the student employee whose performance best exemplifies reliability, quality of work, initiative, teamwork and contributions to your employer,” wrote Lance Thornton, president of NACUFS Midwest Region, in his congratulatory email. “I am sure everyone is very proud of you, your contributions and the manner in which you represent your school. You should be very proud!”

The NACUFS Midwest Region represents 114 higher education institutions in nine states. Winners of each region’s Student Employee of the Year Award were in contention for the national honor, which comes with a $5,000 scholarship and plaque presented at the student’s institution.
